Our mission is to inspire and empower women to get outside, be courageous, and boldly embrace and pursue their dreams by carving their own paths in the mountains and in life.

Originating in Big Sky, Montana, Women of Winter is a grassroots organization founded by Chris Walch, a ski instructor, at Big Sky, Montana.

Inspired by the incredible accomplishments of her fellow female colleagues, she and several other badass women knew their stories needed to be shared. They also knew the women in their community were hungry to hear them, and so in December of 2018, Women of Winter was born with a Speaker Series to showcase these individuals and today has grown to a community of several hundred individuals .
